is it ever explained why Maurice and his family are so rich and slightly famous? it's said early on that he met Robert bc he was trying to steal his wallet, which made me think he grew up poor. but he's like, not just rich he's like fabulously wealthy in the present. and his sisters all seem very wealthy too? just wondering
