I do like how Killjoy shows the conflict between characters on how far they want their resistance to go.

I really like Lament. And there might be something growing between her and Espen?

I do appreciate that Margaret Killjoy hasn't made Lorel into a girlboss or someone who overcomes her struggles easily.

So everyone knows Lorel is trans now.

The dialogue for even the adult characters feels a bit juvenile at some times. Also, not sure how to feel about the commentary on the patriarchal world. It seems just kind of dropped on us suddenly.

Oh! So there was another trans girl in the coven before Lorel. It seems as if no one in the coven is transphobic, but there are other people out there who might use that to gain favor with certain political figures.

It was nice that Hex and Lorel ended on better terms.

This is a good book, but it's doing that thing that a lot of YA books are doing these days where there's juvenile moments that feel more appropriate in Middle Grade than YA.

Well, damn. Was not expecting witches to burn their own kind.
