So Kaneda's not only cocky but just a bastard, ok. Ignored his pregnant girlfriend to try to rape a random lady. Kei? I don't remember her name. I really don't care for this so I guess I won't continue after this volume. The pacing is weird. There's a bunch of chase scenes all the time for some reason. Akira is a bomb maybe? Big ol orb.

I kept quoting the clip of the anime that became a meme so I figured I should actually read the source. I'm not vibing so far. I've never really been a fan of old timey scifi. Something about it is hard to get attached to. Kaneda is a bit too cocky for my liking. He's just abrasive and arrogant without any of the features that make cocky characters fun.
