I had a bookclub about this recently, which convinced me to give book 2 a try. So here I am, continuing book 1 where I left off in 2023.
Apparently the first half is the worst, since the side characters are getting interesting and there are signs that Darrow might develop a personality trait.
The writing style still spams short sentences though, and Darrow must have read this book already because he knows everything.

It feels like I've been struggling through these first edgey 118 pages with blandness to get to the real plot of the book, and I feel exhausted now. I'll try it a bit longer since the plot finally started.
