I can't believe it either. Avoiding being caught by the crown is turning out to be super easy. Barely an inconvenience. And now the children are bonding. But whyyy. I wish there was more actual scenes of Lore and Asher at the start as opposed to montages. Speedrunning here.

I was wondering why people didn't quite like this story. I guess its missing a few scenes and doesn't quite have a set tone. Like when it started, I thought there would be more danger from the fae. But after the quake, its just kind of been Spirited Away vibes. Magical library, a neat market, and salty guard that suddenly warmed up to her for no reason. I don't hate it so far but the missing pieces are noticeable.

Maybe because I grew up on Winx Club, the fact that fae in the books I've read don't have like insect wings is throwing me off. Got bat or bird wings. Granted I have read all of two fae books here lol. Maybe there's a pixie dude out there. Also I thought that Gray would be a love interest but apparently not. I was wondering why the dudes on the cover didn't look like him. Bummer, he's chill.

This book has been on my kobo for a minute and it was dead at work so I finally started reading. I like the premise so far but it does have me wondering about Lore's mom. Cuz if they're all stuck in a barrier, then this woman is still in the vicinity somewhere. No one leaves town so where she at 🤨
