So I originally dnfd this. Probably should’ve kept it that way cause eventhough I made it through this is was more out of curiosity than enjoyment. Mmc has secretly been in love with FMC forever. FMC married young husband turned into an ass after she had 19!!! Miscarriages. Was told she’d die if he kept getting her pregnant but he coerced her anyway.

Mmc brother admits he’s jealous of him and FMC behind traveling with research. They also get married and are very careful about contraceptives. This was okay. Mmc was a little too lax for me. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more had he pinned more heavily or there was a romantic rival involved.

There’s FMC sister who sucks. And ultimately so mini spice but FMC is scared to get hurt after horrible marriage. Mmc is patient they talk in codes and meet in secret. Eventually FMC takes her research public and is arrested with 4 year sentence. This was surprising to me. She’s treated special in prison because of her status. Ends up serving only 4 days because of uproar from public

We learn that her mom had something to do with his death. Because we protect our own. FMC is a scientist but her research is denied because she is a woman. Mmc offers to put in his name to see what response it gets and he is praised and begins giving lectures with her work. Mmc gets sick of the lies and his bro is dying so he wants custody of his nephew. FMC and Mmc fight about this
