Of course, no Redwaller noticed two missing Dibbuns. Because nobody keeps a watch, and nobody checks heads! You have a vermin in your Abbey, and you didn't bother asking him questions either!

I was wondering what sort of creature depicted in the picture was. It didn't look like a vermin since it was sleeping peacefully and didn't look evil-looking.

An interesting plan. Not wholly unique, as Slagar had done something similar. But now we have another set of evil creatures using Brockhall as a lair? I have to wonder if this necklace of serpent fangs that the Sable Queen is wearing comes from those three adders who were bound together in Triss, wasn't it?

That's the one thing that tracks with these hares: they always are nonchalant when it comes to dealing with vermin. Very much like Bugs Bunny in that way.

The artist in this book is definitely different than previous books. I still prefer the art of the earlier ones.

Kind-of breaking cliché with a water vole as a cook. We're getting more variety in Redwall than just the typical critters.

I don't know what's going on with these characters. At one minute, they are chatting, the next one character is distracted by working his forge, and then the next the other character is whining that things aren't fair for him and he doesn't want to conform to the other inhabitants that he lives with! Insulting them even! And the Salamandastron hares are parading, exercising, banqueting, and dancing?! That's not them.

Only two books left of this series before I'm finished! I want to get them done before the end of the year and I do my Goodreads review as well as complete my Goodreads book challenge.
The map of Mossflower in this book is not only different (forced perspective instead of bird's eye view), but it is also wrong. There should be mountains between Salamandastron and Redwall. Why do they keep going missing?
