So far this book feels like filler in regards to the overarching plot.

They've been there two weeks and didn't notice. Yeesh!

So while there are still fun things going on here, it feels as if Spensa has gotten a bit more immature since that last book. Again, it's been a while, so maybe I don't remember correctly, but I don't recall her acting this cringey or bratty. Goofy occasionally, yes, but like this.

Maybe because it's been a while since I read the last books, but something feels off about Spensa's narration. Like, it doesn't feel the same.

We have the origins of the cytonics now. Somewhat reminiscent of Joan D. Vigne's The Snow Queen.

I thought Chet would be Spensa's dad, but surely she would've recognized him.

Pacing is quick, which is good. It's been years since I've read Starsight, but some things are coming back to my memory.
