The thing is that changeling lore is actually interesting and fun and the author of this instead of actually using the existing lore and doing something with it has just thrown the established mythos in the trash and replaced it with deeply stupid vaguely eugenicist bullshit

This book is simultaneously boring and really annoying

The protagonist who are clearly meant to like is completely insufferable and she has NOT improved as the story's gone on

1 piss scene: don't need it but whatever I guess the author wants more realism
2 piss scenes: I am Now Suspicious
3 piss scenes: author has a piss kink

I just did not need nearly as many peeing scenes as this book has.

I basically never need a piss scene.

Calling your vagina your "hoo-haw" and then IMMEDIATELY proceeding to call it the "golden palace of the himalyas" is crazy
