“Yes, have the expectations in place, but know that sometimes God wants you to whisper gratefully under your breath to him, aware that joy and thankfulness can be found in the imperfect parts of life and home. Look for what God is doing in your heart. Learning to walk the fine line between being controlling and conscientious is a constant yet sanctifying struggle. It will keep you going to God for direction.
