All of a sudden, pure body horror. And one of the main characters goes down a very, VERY dark path. And we have a creature. Like, with a capital ‘C’.
What IS this book?!

“Mountains yawn over the horizon here and there. A small pale moon, followed hours later by its brother. Indistinguishable, never sharing the same sky. Longing, intolerable need to be back by the ocean. The sun. Rain pelting itself suicidally against the train's windows as the brakes begin to tease it into a halt. Morning, but she had not slept.”

Two bodies have dropped, and after switching back and forth between print and audio and re-reading some parts, I’m finally beginning to understand some of what is going on. I was considering DNF’ing this, but I am too intrigued by the strangeness of it all.

Also, the audiobook narrator, Nathaniel Priestley, is aces.

It is all very, very strange.
