I’ve not touched any book for 3 days because I’m dreading resuming this…

What. The. Fuck. Is. The. Point.

So much of this book is aimless. Pointless. There is no motivation. It’s just walking around the woods. WHAT IS THE GOAL

The writing is terrible. It’s written so poorly - characterisation where?

The scenes develop into the most nonsensical path…

I have left several notes in my ebook with “wtf is going on.”

Why are you acting like that? Why did you just do that?

Every chapter is plagued with telling 🥲

I’m getting frustrated reading this. I don’t feel I’ve learnt anything new about this world since Chapter 2. For me, it’s boring to read non stop action. I don’t care about these people. I don’t understand their world, and what drives them to survive.

Clearly, I prefer political fantasies over this.

I want the world to develop more and it’s going nowhere.

- the world hasn’t been set up enough for me to be rooting for any of these champions OR feel invested in the FMC’s (Ferris) family past
- this book is in first person and annoyingly, she has to remind us in every chapter that she’s Not Like Other Girls

This book is making me feel empty. I don’t care how they go in the woods. I hardly understand how they live… none of it is clear

ngl I’m in the mood for something fast-paced so I am speed reading this faster than usual
