screaming crying throwing up this book is so good. What a journey this has been. I can’t believe it’s also done.
Also I have this joke that if I had a nickel for every time I watched a show or movie, read a book, whatever and found out I was accidentally engaging with a 9/11 or ww2 story I’d have wayyyyyy more nickels than the average person. Welp.

Okay but why is this kid the most 2005-coded brand of "quirk"? Like Dawsons Creek meets Perks of Being a Wallflower meets probably that kid from Little Miss Sunshine idk. If Foer had given him 2-3 of these qualities it would be mildly more survivable but this kid is insufferable!!
I am only in it for the grandparent letters at this point.

Is the kid still annoying (and weirdly racist?): yes.
Did I cry on page 85? Also yes
So we’re trusting the process right now.
