i’m just skimming/speedreading at this point and. i’m not missing details doing so, i don’t think. it’s so many words saying absolutely little. i’m not trying to be cruel because i adore jonah as a person/creator but i think the positive reviews are glazing a little too hard. maybe they’re being honest. reading is subjective. but. ahhhhh. i really wanna dnf but im already behind my reading goal 😔

this book is so long for no reason the the longer i spend reading the angrier i’m getting. i’m so frustrated with this book. i’m so immensely bored with it. i hate the characters. the writing is sloppy. the immersion breaks all the time. i’m speed reading at this point.

idk 😭 i’m on page 100 and it feels like nothing has happened, which is fine sometimes things are slow, but it’s not really exciting to read and the interactions between kairos and eris feel so forced

unfortunately i’m not loving it nearly as much as i hoped or expected. the dialogue feels unnatural and the curses are kind of killing things. the issue with the dialogue is that it slips between feeling too modern whilst trying to be more formal in essence of fantasy. the descriptions are there, but there’s something that’s bothering me and i don’t know what. it’s not bad though!
