I've been reading a few of the more negative takes on Murakami over the last couple of days and although I can understand these critiques I'm not dissuaded in my love of this book. Having recently read a lot of classics, this book's been a breath of fresh air style-wise. It's amazing how Murakami is able to weave together the mundane and the fantastic. The brief reminiscences of WWII have all been spectacular.

Genuinely no clue where this book is going to go next. Just got to the part where Toru's left the well and read the letter, absolutely gut-wrenching stuff
