it’s amazing to me just how honest this book is. he never tries to justify his actions or make himself look like the good guy. i just read the shooting chapter and it’s all so raw. im so sad this man is gone.

smth about this book…. the way it manages to be worlds away yet so relatable at the same time. i read one part and actually felt a weight lift off my chest bc it felt so good to see that experience in someone else’s words.

i’ve never had any interest in autobiography’s before. i just picked this up because i’m such a fan of michael k williams’ performance in the wire. but my GOD. the writing really makes you feel like you’re there. the fact this man could live such a traumatic life and still dedicate his entire platform to lifting others up is just amazing to me. i’ve never been so upset over a celebrity death.
