I just looked up the laws and prices. She is allowed to buy up to 250 kg of ammo, which is insane and she’s likely spending about $1000 on it as a conservative estimate. Not including the gun she’s also about to buy. Crazy! She must have gotten a lot of money from the agency after her kidnapping or something.

I know Sydney is probably paranoid from her past ordeal, but fifty boxes of ammo sounds like a ton. Doesn’t that raise any red flags for the store? Just how many bullets is that?

My thoughts so far are that the book isn’t poorly written, but it’s failing to grab me. I feel like I’m not a part of the story, but am just witnessing it. For example, when we’re told Sydney is holding off a panic attack, it’s simply stated. I have panic attacks and I feel like my ideal book would draw me in and make me feel as if I was there with Sydney, struggling to get the words out, bathed in fear.

I don’t think I’ve ever looked down at a dress I was wearing and thought “it emphasized the curve of my breasts”. That’s a strange thought to have about yourself, especially from that angle.

Another typo. Who’s instead of whose. Relatively common, but would be missed by a word processor.

I know Sydney is in a remote area and her phone probably wouldn’t work in the woods. Now that she’s home though, call 911! She found a man injured in the middle of the woods. He needs proper medical attention and a police report!

It’s the same typo again. The author does not know the difference between to and too.

“His eyes revealed nothing but evil”. Ooph that’s a bad line. You’re going to tell us outright that he’s evil without telling us that he had a menacing look in his eyes or something that reveals it a little more indirectly?

There’s a typo in the dedications. As in, before page 1. I’ve never had that happen before…
