OK, OK, the plot is picking up but my previous critique remains valid.

this is one of the most repulsive scenes I've ever read.

Oh, wow, this really awful. I'm sorry, but it is :( Clunky, awkward, error-filled, and uninspired prose, and no sense of dramatic or sexual tension. The characters are OK but nothing stays unresolved long enough to be compelling. All the dramatic stuff seems like an afterthought! I'm starting to be unwilling to suspend disbelief, but will persevere! (I just learned there ARE tobacco farms in Ireland. Who knew?)
