Ok…I actually LIKE a little bit of “lady-in-distress” shenanigans…but thid id too much for me. At this point, the story is literally just the protagonist getting in one near death situation after another just so that the ML can save her 🫠

I see why peeps compare this to the HG or the MR

If this was the first asian-myth inspired book I’d read, then I would probably be entranced. However, with the complete lack of beautiful prose, it just feels like deja vu.
+ the pacing feels rushed somehow.

Okay…I already love the ml. But the writing is just so meh 💔
