Finished the marquis story and so far it’s been great. Through a series of interruptions (like this) Atay is able to create one of the best depictions of an obsessive and self-conscious narrator I’ve seen. The focus on fear, anxiety, depression, etc. make it feel kafkaesque in the best of ways.
