It would have added actual interest to the second chance romance if both of them did actual work on themselves and were slightly different this time around. I wanted Harriet to have established herself more as an individual outside of her relationships.

So, to summarize, I hate this book because it is essentually about an unhinged woman that is obsessed with her ex-boyfriend and will do anything to get him back. Even throw away her own life without a second thought because who is she without her man anyways am I right?

Another option would have been for them to continue a long distance relationship while Harriet figures herself out more. This would have shown that Wyn was also willing to compromise for Harriet’s happiness. Anything would have been better than making a rash decision on quitting school and moving after a man.

I especially think she needed to realise how unhappy with her life she was after losing Wyn because it seems like Wyn was the only reason she used to be happy. After the break up she refused to find out how to enjoy life and feel fulfilled without Wyn which is not healthy at all.

I don’t even mind the pottery like a lot of the reviews seem to but rather the lack of compromise. It’s like Harriet can’t keep anything from her previous life - and no the pottery does not count. This book desperately needed Harriet to have done some work on herself after their break up.

At the very least he should have talked to her honestly at the start of the book since supposedly he had grown after going to therapy and getting depression medication. Even so the way he broke up with her was awful and honestly no amount of mental health excuses is enough to make up for it. In the end I just wanted Harriet to grow a back bone and stop groveling after this mediocre man.

This ending highlights how this whole book is just Harriet chasing after Wyn, who honestly seems like he does not care at all and would be happy just staying single. I don’t like how he uses his mental health as an excuse for his behaviour and how he still blames her for not communicating even when not doing that himself.

The only reason she moved to the ranch is Wyn and I just can’t get behind that as a happy ending especially because she is a people pleaser. Who’s to say she’s not just appeasing Wyn this time around. For her ending to be truly happy I feel it needed to focus on her and not Wyn.

I like the idea of this book - Harriet burns out on trying to be perfect all the time and finally decides to live the life she wants. However, it ended up coming across as her abandoning herself and her life. I hate that Harriet just lost herself on Wyn’s life. It was even framed as ”Wyn is enough for me” and not that she dreamed of living on the ranch doing pottery even if Wyn was not in the picture.

I hate Wyn. He is such a blah character and this book spent way too much time trying to convince me that Wyn is special somehow. But there’s just nothing there. It makes Harriet seem unhinged because she’s so obsessed with Wyn. I don’t really understand what they see in each other. Their banter feels forced and never gets any deeper from their first meeting. It feels like it’s trying too hard to be witty.

I have been happy just existing and not thinking of this book but I guess it’s time to put the nail in the coffin and bury this bich. This book is awful. I was prepared to think it’s mediocre but it was way worse than I expected. I’m just going to focus on the main romance because I’ve forgotten a lot of the details in this book.
