Starting the morning with a little encouragement :) I have owned this book for at least 2 years now, and this is the first time I’ve been able to read past ~20 pages or so. It’s a lot and I still take breaks every few pages. The stats were when some things really sunk in for me. So I commend the bravery of anyone who even attempted this on their own, esp if the anecdotes feel relatable.

gm readers!! Work email is off & some other random stuff is done, so a few pages of this to break up the excessive Bronte.
Okay today I'm going to get coffee & cat litter, number one. Then shower, then oil change. Scouts honor, that's the order of operations. I frankly think that SOMEBODY is going to strike me down if I don't do that today lmao. I wouldn't be surprised if they have the will power 💀

For me, this book kinda feels like looking in one of those magnifying mirrors that show you every pore. Helpful, but also just a little too close for comfort lol. If you’re solo reading, pls know that a trusted buddy read is always an option & and parsing through some of the larger ideas or questions with someone you relate to can be invaluable whenever needed.

So far this is very good and pretty comprehensive for a 200 page guide. I will say that it veers into higher support needs cases and doesn’t necessarily fully take on how being a high masking or ‘conventionally attractive’ woman makes things both harder and easier lol. High-masking autism, esp in women, tends to be a missing piece in most autism awareness content and research; I’ve seen countless videos of high masking folks online raise the gap as a serious barrier to support. Obviously, it’s incredibly difficult to tackle every single perspective in a short book and overall, I found it really illuminating & validating particularly when I was newly diagnosed.
