Really interesting intertextual reference to Yoon’s “The Sun is Also a Star” which is one of my favourite books of all time. I didn’t realize how similar the themes of these two books were until the reference—they are both about the children of immigrant parents trying to find their way in the world. It really made me think about the messages from Yoon’s book and how they might appear in this book too.
