No but seriously imagine it: you’re seeing the Bundren family transporting a coffin. Everyone’s having a great time. The Bundrens seem a little excited.
“We have a surprise for you guys.” Anse says. All of a sudden the Compsons come out and start singing “more public castration.” When Jason gets to the chorus, someone else starts singing…
“I hate to see that evening sun go down.”
Lights flashing everywhere, and you see the Bundrens singing along with the Compsons and the Mannigoes. Everyone in the crowd is going wild and crying. Then if things couldn’t get any better, Caddie and Dewey Dell walk up to the coffin and kiss, holding the gay flag.
