The story: perfection
The writing: hideous.
I have to think that the only reason this isn't for kids is because of the concubine of it all. Everything is explained repeatedly. A man stabs someone and our narrator tells us Oh no, he was a terrible man. The stakes are told to us over and over in case we forgot in the last two pages. Painted by numbers of writing.
