On this page the soldier is having what I can only describe as an existential panic attack.
He basically is wondering what’s in her head, but he knows that NO ONE can know what’s in another’s head. Then he fears they are not having the “same” breakfast in their minds which makes him wonder if she’s even there or if there’s a breakfast… and down the rabbit hole he goes. I’ll quote it later.

I’m still a bit stalled in this long book. I’m hoping to get. Chance to just get deeper in but I’m reading multiples so I probably won’t for a while. I’d like to instead commit to at least 50-100 pages a week so I don’t lose my desire to read it. My brain is fickle like that.
