I just came upon this sentence and I wholeheartedly do NOT agree with it at all.
“..but more important than loving is understanding and respecting my children, which includes, more than anything else, understanding and respecting their choices to end their lives.”

Is she fucking kidding me? They were children.
I can’t even.

Listening to this sick fuck of a MC has got me grossed out but I know what’s coming and I need to see it thru!

This book is super slow going for me. I’m enjoying the characters but I’m not super invested. I’m hoping it turns a corner. I think it will when this man and his daughter come to love the MC. And vice versa.

I’m taking this book slowly and reading in between other reads because this is just so sad. I’m right about up to the part where the boy who needs a heart went home for 3 hours to celebrate Christmas with his family and how it just made him decline that much quicker. Being so close to Christmas this was so hard to read. Had to put it down.

I’m finding amazing things out about nature and the origins of life and how sounds originated and it’s all pretty damn amazing!

Um ok this is going to be one of my very favorite books of the year!!!! I just love it. Listening on
Audible and loving it. Makes me want to run straight to my shelves and read her other two books that I haven’t read!!

I’m annotating and tabbing up this book. I had no idea that rape and general groping/molesting in public places of women was so rampant in places like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya, etc. and you know it really pisses me off. Women there cover themselves are modest and men still act like pigs. And they will use religious or cultural beliefs to get away with it all. No way to prosecute. It’s heartbreaking; enraging.

I’m starting to really like Luke and I’m rooting for Sera to get her magic back.

Cute story but I’m not too invested so far.

Ahhh I love these pairings esp mischief she’s up to frightening these contemptuous people.

I loved this author's last book Weyward! I especially love the dual timeline between present day and the distant past. She does this so well. Listening to this on NetGalley. Enjoying it!

These few pages these poor kids omg are you kidding me? This is heavy emotional baggage right here. And trigger warnings for parental suicide. The f out of here! I wanted funnyyyyy not "life is funny in a tragic sort of way"!!!!

Ew who puts their kids from the prior marriage in a guest house and what second wife doesn't offer to raise your older kids when their mom dies. These people are weird.

Enjoying this book dyin to meet these kids that spontaneously combust but never seem to burn!

Trucking thru this sad story. Seeing this kid taken advantage of is not fun.

This was one of my “24 in 24” books and I’m so glad I finally picked it up! Dark humor, super naturalness and political intrigue makes for an interesting and entertaining read!

This book started out as a slow burn but omg I’m starting to learn more about the characters and I’m getting invested. I love how this book makes me laugh! I’m recommending it to my TN friend Lori!!!

In parts very exciting in parts a bit slow. Wondering what will be the out swing on my opinion and where this all will lead. Listening to the audio and I think maybe I would’ve liked it more just reading it but I can’t buy the world of books as much as I’d love to!

Fantastic story! Dragon rides hunky man, badass female assassin … it’s been a wild ride and I’m still here for it!!

I’m really enjoying this fantasy book. Raeve is an assassin for a group of revolutionaries and I dig her character!

On chapter 6 and I’m loving it!

Really enjoying this book about 3 young adults who died but mysteriously came back to life. Enter magic, music, sex, and mystery!

This book is so so sad. In it you read of this loving Sri Lankan family who are Tamils and their experiences with the brutality of civil war there in the 80s. I’m so invested in this family. The writing is amazing - I’ll definitely be looking to read more from this author. Also, this book has been short listed for the Booker Prize.

This book is brutal I have to read it in small bits.

So poignant. I love the part where he pretends to have a full fledged conversation with his assailant and talks both sides out. I don’t know if this helped him heal but he did decide to not try to talk to his assailant.

I’m almost halfway thru this book and I’m so completely intrigued. I’m excited that there’s a sequel to it coming out this summer. I’m hoping to finish this weekend!

I started this book a few days ago and I’m on pg 71 and I’m biting my nails with anxiety. I can only read it in dribs and drabs bc it’s so intense. Very well written one could fly thru it. One without ANXIETY lol.
