Thomas finally spoke to Andrew again after a couple weeks. He told him it was protecting him to not talk to him, but this is eating away at Andrew.

They have their first fight. Andrew confesses he wouldn’t care if Thomas murdered his parents.

Thomas gets taken by the detectives and when he returns to school he runs into the woods. Later Andrew finds him in a tree and around the tree the leaves are wet with blood.

The two boys sneak out onto the roof and Andrew asks about Thomas’ parents. He deflects still. And then they tell eachother a secret. The secret thomas reveals is that andrew will hate him one day.

Andrew and Thomas met when they were 12. Thomas protected Andrew from the beginning from bullies since he was the new kids from Australia.

The police question Thomas. Neighbors heard screaming and there was a lot of blood at the house before Thomas left for school. Thomas deflects and the detectives think he’s lying.
-Andrew gave him his blazer to hide the blood on Thomas’ sleeve
-Andrew spied on the conversation
-Thomas promises nothing will harm Andrew

Andrew and Thomas return to senior year. Andrew notices blood on Thomas’ sleeve, his jitteriness, and voidness of talking about his parents. Thomas doesn’t know (or does) that Andrew would do anything for him.
