Dude’s really doing “her boobs boobed boobily” in a scene where a character’s clothes needed removed to treat an infected wound.

Kikuchi goes for more of an atmospheric horror vibe to start out volume three. It works pretty well with his write style, and his improved prose.

Volume 2 done after a bit of a reading slump. Huge jump in quality in terms of plot and prose. An overpowered character like D can be tough to write, and I believe it’s done pretty well here. I do see what people mean about the author’s penchant for teenage girls getting assaulted as a means of inducing peril. It could be handled more tactfully.

Volume one down. I could nitpick the writing all day, the man really could have used an empowered editor. But there’s something to be said for the unique lore and world building. There’s a latent talent for atmosphere that’s slowly carving itself out of the marble.

The prose is… well, the translator did their best I’m sure. In spite of the writing itself, the world and the lore has me pretty hooked so far. It’s a thick book, but not too dense. A pretty easy read.
