Ahhh I love how deep the characters are, how all the little details build up. Stuff like Bai Chunian bringing up his “mini honeymoon” to literally everyone and anyone without prompting, because he wants go show off since he is a romantic softie at heart… You don’t just get told character is shy or something, you see it happen without the author hitting you over the head with descriptions. I love her writing

Nearly two thousand pages, 144 chapters… and we get the first sex scene (a very vague one at that). Romance girlies could not imagine what we danmei girlies go through.

Felt like coming back to this and omfg I hate myself for reading multiple things at once since I forgot what the current sub plot is and had to backtrack. Anyways I like how at this point Bai Chunian and Rimbaud are finally an official (married!) couple and how they no longer hide who they truly are (obviously Rimbaud could never pretend to be a human but Bai Chunian revealing he’s not human is a big step for him)

How is this so good? It looks like a silly little funny fantasy but the world is unexpectedly complex and so is the story, anything even resembling a plot hole has just turned out to be some insane foreshadowing. Not to toot my own horn but I can really tell when a writer is skilled... and this one really is.

Nevermind, Rimaud isn’t unhinged. ERIS IS. Holy crap. I hope he will stick around and won’t be just an episodic villain, he is so crazy :D and as inhuman as it gets… curious to see that objects can become sentient experimental subjects too.

I’m right about where you are in this novel (27%) and I have a question about when Bai Chunian is underwater in the new bedroom Rimbaud prepared for him 😬How is he talking and breathing lolol. I’m not expecting everything to be explained perfectly but I think I missed something here because earlier in the novel Rimbaud gave him some of his own oxygen which lasts for a while. I might just have to go back and reread to see what I missed lol

In chapter 87 (I just looked it up, I’m reading rn xD) Rimbaud created a bubble that allows Bai Chunian to move around underwater, interact with things + also breathe and speak :D earlier at the training island when they went diving for the first time he couldn’t speak because Rimbaud didn’t make this bubble (just gave him oxygen), but here in the Caribean he’s always in a bubble :)
Ahhh okay, thank you so much! Sometimes I get stuck on something that really isn’t that important but it just stays in the back of my mind until I figure it out. This novel is so delightful, I’m loving it so much! I was 💀when Lu Shangjin bought Lu Yan all those helicopters all designed like different kinds of rabbits 😂
I totally get it! Small inconsistencies and details tend to bug me to no end, I can even DNF books due to stuff like that driving me insane… weirdly enough, for this book so far I haven’t been my usual nitpicky self. That helicopter did make me do a double take tho xD
