Still am not impressed. I’m waiting for more of the story on how fossils were found and what came next but we’re still reading about the girls family and we’re already 2 chapters in…

Too much dramatism and hyperbole and unnecessary details

“Mary Anning…never mentioned her name”. WOW. Another huge moment in history when women have had their names erased or left out.

Still not a nice fan of this writing style, but there is more of a scientific focus beginning. It’s interesting to discuss the different coloration of fossils and when they were found, so many years ago.

Not impressed with Edward Dolnick’s hyperboles and over eccentric beginning of the book.

I prefer more of the scientific history and facts.

He is beginning to focus more on them, so we will see how it goes.
