This chapter was so dramatic and ominous that this ending line feels like a threat. I love it.
With stories of rape or abuse here I like the revenge narrative, I just hate it with Lucy because she is not a survivor, its fake. But this part, its just getting good. I like.

Finally its getting kind of good. It took too long to get here but now that things are happening I might be able to forgive it.

I cannot stress enough how nothing has happened.
3 perspectives make the pace a crawl. Why are sirens a mystery if the book is called The Sirens? Why must we watch these boring gals learn the most basic info 3 times over?
Im dying for a reveal or something at this point its just embellishment. Such ego youre so terrible at mysteries its embarrassing
But mostly im bored

Also the poor boyfriend Ben. It was all solved her accidently leaked nudes, he genuinely apologized, they were back together, everything is good. Then suddenly shes strangling you one morning and runs away? No apology text, nothing right then no brief "sorry" before scampering off? THATS SO SUSPICIOUS. poor dude like youre just having ur gf over and shes tryna choke u out. Then she runs away 12hrs with no text?So sad

Its not good literally nothing has happened. This girl feels like such an author insert; shaved head, true crime loving wannabe journalist? Its so disconcerting and her monologue is so immature and unbearable.
The sister is on another level of this authors insert: cool person and the fact that the "modern" day for this book is 7 years ago is so bizarre.

So now this letter saying he pressed charges for assault against her? I just dont believe it, its pretty convenient that this behavior which came out of nowhere btw against Ben who still feels guilty about that situation would THEN go and file charges??? no.
More likely he would feel that he brought this on himself by betraying her, that he deserved to be hurt in this way. And genuinely any time they say "investigate" a he said she said, they just interview yall and leave it at that. Theres no evidence aside from testimony and his injuries. Literally her saying nothing WAS THE WORST THING SHE COULDVE DONE. she dug this whole for herself when she could've recovered at any moment and still can btw.
Its just a terrible monologue for a terrible person who's so disgustingly insecure and paranoid. Like no the world isn't coming after you, youre getting in your own head. Her poor friend made good points like you can still come back from this girl...
The sad thing is I know paranoid people like this and its so sad trying to talk them out if their delusions, I just avoid the subject. Its so pathetic honeslty.
