I genuinely hate every character in this book so far but it’s Orwell dropping lines like this that makes it worthwhile.

So far I’m learning new kinds of racism I didn’t even know were a thing. (Orwell is critical of it.)

Tea That's kind of how I felt reading 1984 in high school. I was NOT having a good time, but Orwell wrote words that stuck with me

Annie I want to read most of Orwell but small bit by small bit since it's rarely pleasant. This is my second one by him, but my first novel.
