‘Will the torment end then?’ he asked her. ‘Will the fire go out then?’ ‘Between you and me, it will never go out,’ she said. ‘But the pain will cease.’

Patience's backstory was really good, but "The Strange Demise of Titus Endor" was absolutely insane. Simply a fantastic, mind-blowing story. Reminded me very much of all the Fitzek Books i‘ve read.

The first three stories don't revolve around characters from the series. The author mentions that they‘re only included because he didn't know where else to publish them. Tbh, I only skimmed them because they're rather weak in content. The first story featuring Eisenhorn and his crew, however, is very good and refreshing; a pure detective story with investigations, pathology, and everything. I enjoyed it.

The first half of the book are short stories and the second half a longer novella. There's an official timeline online showing when the short stories take place (mostly between or during the Eisenhorn books or between Eisenhorn and Ravenor). I would recommend reading them alongside to both series and the longer novella (the Magos) after Ravenor and before Paria, as it essentially serves as a prelude to the Bequin series.
Thanks for the info 👍 Not sure i like the third person narrative in Ravenor got used to Eisenhorn...oll get uswd to it 🙂
I think it's actually very well done imho. Ravenor is primarily told from the third person perspective from various characters, as well as from Ravenor's first-person perspective.
