Yeah you could have cut the whole first part of this and still had the story make sense I think

Part 1 feels relatively unnecessary to the story given the very extreme shift

I just feel like there's a place between secular and ultra orthodox that this is missing and it feels deeply strange that Larry went from secular and bitter to wholly ultra orthodox out of nowhere

This part came out of nowhere and feels very jarring
