The fact that the RAF was deliberately targeting German civilians with their bombing raids was well known by people of the time. RAF leaders boasted about it on national broadcasts. This book would have you believe it's all a "dirty lie."

The Nazis in this book exist almost solely to be enemies of the British. And occasionally the Norwegians. But that's it. No mention of the Jews.

The emotions are really well-drawn. I will say that. The premise is still insane though... and I'm waiting for the part where we get to the debates over the bombing, because I remember that being UNHINGED

[Like. I get that this is written during the war itself and Constance Savery probably doesn't have access to all the information . . . but the entire point of this chapter is about NOT SWALLOWING PROPAGANDA. So, ironic.]

I really like the descriptions.

I don't exactly like the kidnapping premise--it feels a little 'off' to me, in terms of realism--but I'm ignoring that because the rest of the story is so good. <3
