I'm not sure precisely what it was, but I started welling up on the train, embarrassed that somebody might witness me emote. During this part of the second story there is a simple exchange between an adult daughter and her seventy-something father. I can't imagine me having a kindergartner would do this, but I have no other explanation.

because it is a short story collection I went to check reviews, to read thoughts on the stories I have finished. Holy crap why do so many people read if they can't read. Like literally why do some of these people read the words but then proceed to not put further thought into the words they just read? So far this is really good and really well written.
