I was wondering why I'm not fully obsessed with this as I want to be, then it hit me that the answer is how juvenile everything feels, the writing, the maturity (or lack thereof) of the characters, the lack of grey morality... It all feels very youthful. If I imagine these characters as tweens rather than adults, I can enjoy it a lot better
