Multigenerational women's group asked us to share a movie recommendation. A Christian White women (topic of this book) mentioned Sinners. Her review was full of performative anti-racism and trauma porn. Her fellow non-POC women chimed in and they all looked at the one African American woman with wide eyed expectation. It was like synchronized swimming. All WOC (including myself) rolled their eyes collectively.

Deidra Riggs and Paula Owens Parker provide brave essays. My mentors and friends know that my current list of mentees are all POC. I briefly mentored one Russian Jewish woman. What have I always given my mentees? I never say "Not all X" when they're sharing professional, romantic, or personal issues to me.
