This was the most most boring first few chapters I have ever read in my life, and I do not say that lightly. That being said I can tell it's on purpose. Therese's life is dull, her environment suffocating, and everyone is emotionally a wet blanket and it's portrayed well despite how clinical it reads. But goodness is her life BORING.
