One ought not underestimate the power of a palate cleanser book. Yes this is cheesy and predictable but when in the middle of two very dark stories filled with trigger warnings, the contrast so far makes this so easy to pick up and allows me to lift my spirits with it.
Granted, that could change based on its contents, but for now, I'm having fun.

I originally had a different book lined up for this Goodreads challenge. One that I owned an ebook of.
But after realizing how dark 'The Kite Runner' and 'The Poet Empress' are, relatively, I needed a silly palate cleanser of a book. My original pick? Also pretty dark.
So I checked this audiobook out of the library instead.
