Convinced me that "psychosomatic uniity" is ultimately more useful than "dichotomy." Good discussion on intermediate state. Bad on counseling and missions implications (as expected). Goos on parenting and school implications.

For all his term switching, Hoekema couldn't improve on common grace? In any case, he's kuyperian in his approach, arguing for an expansive view of common grace that steps into "general revelation" at places and what could simply be called the created order in others. Still, it's a good starting place for correcting excessive views of depravity.

Odd chapter. Leans on Lewis for the view that "spiritual sins" are worse than "physical." Goes with pride as the root sin. Leans on the tne commandments as law pretty heavily.

I liked his discussion of hidden sin and getting into sin as privation was helpful.

On the spread of sin. Creative renaming of terms. Same for combining of views. Not so compelling exegetically, at least is internally consistent. Great quotes throughout, as usual.
