This chapter reminds me of Project Hail Mary. I honestly find these nonhumanoids repulsive. They're like a morass of organic matter that eats itself excretes itself, gives birth to and reabsorbs itself.

I am both awed and repulsed when scenes are written in which human(oid)s communicate with nonhuman(oid)s.

Now THIS is alien.

Maria should take charge more.

They're all so young and in the grip of their hormones.

I have a feeling Maria's plan/s will be better than Ubu's.

Once again, I'm shocked at how defeatable Ubu is. Just goes to show, strength and reflexes alone don't make you a fighter.

Kit's youth really shows here.

I thought Ubu would’ve been invincible against anyone with two arms. I suppose fighting isn’t primarily about strength.
