Too for the same reasons. Like be gave so many scripture references, especially psalms and lamentations, but there was several other books. And then he gave practices to do, verses to put to memory, he bullet pointed all the core principles from each chapter in the same spot, wise words, and more books than my TBR to read and he categorized for what type of struggle within the struggle of depression and anxiety ->

And with all the scripture he gave as references, I could snd will use them snd do deep dives on the verses and chapter and have SERIOUS prayer and quiet time with God. Like dude J.P. Moreland. THANK YOU! bc i originally 4.5 months ago had the mindset of reading this book to “cure” or fix or get rid of my depression. But i came out with MILLIONS of resources that will help me alongside my awful +5 years war with severe depression and more. Like wow. And the greatest part of all of this is that it literally leads back to scripture, every. Time. Like for a while and especially->

Day and wow. Like it was good and all, but chapter 6. my gosh. Chapter 6 after page 160, GET OUT WOW! Like it was just about feeling disappointed and /or confused in God and like ugh it was good not necessarily bc of what J.P. Was saying but bc he just referenced EVERYTHING back to scripture. Which is honestly THE MOST POWERFUL thing one could ever do or say. And I mean so much. And the conclusion is incredible ->

But then I got EXTREMELY busy over the next few months and only read it when I was sad late at night but then I’d always fall asleep. So then I just read it whenever I had time during the ->

This is probably the same or similar warped mindset ppl in abusive or toxic relationships say to themselves. I won’t like it’s hard and I honestly don’t know if I’m willing enough to actually do it. Like stop ruminating. Girl what. I genuinely don’t think that’s mentally possible. Ahhh . And asking for help sounds impossible and is my legit biggest nightmare soo yah that’s my life

Um I stopped reading it just before the 4th Re (relabel, reframe, refocus, and revaluing ) bc I realized a very scary thought that maybe deep down I don’t want to get better bc my depression has always been there for thr past almost 5 years even tho obvi I don’t want it there and it’s familiar so actually taking steps to get better truthfully sounds like something I need but don’t want at all. ->
