I’ll probably finish this book today. But I needed to interrupt and say this:

The death of the feline was dare I say the most surprising and shocking.

Also, I relate to the way Margaret is in her relationship with Edith.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but the lack of HIPAA practices (not policies) let alone, considerations is beyond shocking.

Also, this book has a surprisingly high body count. One fell victim to a disease brought on by occupation, one dies of natural causes, one by manslaughter, and one by suicide. That’s honestly so many deaths it’s crazy. And another is on the precipice.

I think Margaret’s lot in life for how her family neglects her is an unfortunate yet understated plight.

The fact that boy mom have existed as a stereotype for this long is honestly hilarious

Ooof rip. Yeah that was awful and painful.

Homeboy is so incredibly whipped. I can’t express the excitement of him directly noticing it’s the first time their hands touched.

Also—spicy riot romantic developments was not what I expected, but I do welcome it

He likey likes her but doesn’t realize yet. 👀

I do find myself particularly partial to dynamics in which characters dislike each other before falling.

Mr. Thornton has a particularly sad backstory that explains his character well.

Bessy kills me. “Sometimes I'm so tired out I think I cannot enjoy heaven without a piece of rest first.”

The early proposal was so crazy that I wasn’t sure if he was going to be the male lead.
