It's so sad to me how deeply some ppl yearn for God

Ok I'm loving this, it's so good so fun so weird so atmospheric. Perfect vibes.
But genuinely the plot is so random

THIS IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! Why isn't this on the list of things to read when you're watching Kiki's Delivery Service

dude's hat just turned into a cat and back again and still the most fantastical thing about this book so far is this:
man goes to a doctor and says he's ill
"well I don't see symptoms but since you're afraid you should have all the proper tests done."
"how much will it be?"
"as much as you like"

- oh, so a doctor listens to you and then the bills are pay what you can? Genuinely high fantasy.

I love this!!! WHAT. I didn't know what this was going to be about at all, but damn I genuinely love this book.

Are ppl holding Russians at gunpoint and asking them if God is real a la Southern evangelical schools in the 90s or what? First The Brothers Karamazov now this, they are like

"Is God real yes or no"

Christian students in church pamphlets: yes and I'm gettin shot for Jesus
Russians: ok so here is the devil let's ask him
