But genuinely the plot is so random

dude's hat just turned into a cat and back again and still the most fantastical thing about this book so far is this:
man goes to a doctor and says he's ill
"well I don't see symptoms but since you're afraid you should have all the proper tests done."
"how much will it be?"
"as much as you like"

- oh, so a doctor listens to you and then the bills are pay what you can? Genuinely high fantasy.

I love this!!! WHAT. I didn't know what this was going to be about at all, but damn I genuinely love this book.

Are ppl holding Russians at gunpoint and asking them if God is real a la Southern evangelical schools in the 90s or what? First The Brothers Karamazov now this, they are like

"Is God real yes or no"

Christian students in church pamphlets: yes and I'm gettin shot for Jesus
Russians: ok so here is the devil let's ask him

Every book I read after finishing The Brothers Karamazov makes me appreciate it more
