Something PLEASE happen! I'm halfway through the book now, and since introducing the crime, we have literally zero advancements. No new info, no reveals, no leads, nothing. It's just lemme talk to this guy, now this gal, meet up here, talk here. I cut myself. Talk to this guy, and this person. Even if they snap around and say, oh, that policeman was the killer the whole time! it wouldn't redeem how boring it's been.

Zzzzzzz . . .
Just not very inspired, so far. Report goes to hometown and investigates murders. That's literally it. I've been given no reason to care about anything that happens. I'm sure the information they're giving me will come up later, but I have no incentive to absorb it now. Doesn't have one bit of the charm of Gone Girl.
