September - It is spider mating season, so we now see many larger spiders spinning webs to impress the opposite sex, as the males come out of hiding to seek a mate.

*shudders* windows closed well before dusk in this house!! Judging by the sheer amount of flies there’s been this summer, these creepy creatures are going to enormous! 😧🕷️🕸️

‘After all the glories of spring and midsummer, the woods fall quiet in July. There are no great spectacles, no carpets of flowers or choruses of birds. All of that springtime posturing and frenzy was for one purpose - creating babies…’ 🌞

June is the month of the great British Oak Tree 🌳 on average, a large Oak is home to over 2300 living species! 🤩

April is the most magical moment in the woods all year long, and if you only visit the woodland once this year, make it from April-May. The breathtaking lilac haze of a bluebell carpet in an ancient wood is a phenomenon only seen in the UK and Ireland.

I adore this beautiful time of year! 🥹🌳

Wild garlic, sleepy female bumblebees, peacock and tortoiseshell butterflies lay their eggs on nettle tips, hedgehogs emerging, hungry for beetles - all signs that Spring is upon us! 🌱🐝 🦋 🦔🪲
