I am pleased to have been introduced to the word 'Apricity'. A rarely used noun that means the warmth of the sun in winter or on a cold day.

I'll try and pop that into conversation at some point this year

46 single parent, and didn't once think before the twins were born what she'd do for work once a mum?
"And she had no clue how she’d make it work once she went back. No idea how to carry on as normal or timetable a job around childcare. She was unlikely to find anywhere that opened in time for her to be at the studio by 6am. Ruth was facing the very real possibility that the career she’d fought for might be over."

Elizabeth oh I LOVE that!! As a Canadian, I need to add this word to my vocabulary because a sunny winter day is a completely different experience than a gray winter day. Thank you! 😊

Engrossed Reader You're welcome. It's such a great word which evokes a precise feeling. Why isn't it more popular? Equally as useful in the UK, recent heatwaves aside, it can be pretty gray and miserable. We adore the infrequent sunny winter days and wish for more and generally don't get it.
